John L. Burns, OD
Dr. Burns graduated from Widener University with a B.S. in Biology in 1986. He then went on to graduate the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1989. He is a member of the Maryland and American Optometric Association. He is serving as President Elect of the Maryland Optometric Association.
Dr. Burns was elected "Young Optometrist of the Year" in 1998. Dr Burns is currently serving as Central Maryland Optometric Society President.
"Congratulations to Dr. Burns, who, along with 14 other TLC Affiliates were recently selected to receive the Platinum level of the distinguished TLC "Dennis Kennedy Excellence in Eye Care" award for 2005! Dr. Burns was the only optometrist in the mid-atlantic region to achieve this level.

Dr. Burns and his wife Sandy have three children and in his spare time he enjoys coaching them in soccer and basketball. He also enjoys running and golf.

Barry Miles, Optician
Barry Miles and his father, Dr. Forrest Z. Miles, co-founded Eye Design in 1984 when they branched off from a group Optometric practice. Mr. Miles is American Board Certified with over twenty-five years of optical experience. He is past president of Washington Chapter of the Opticians Association of Maryland and is currently on its Board of Directors. He recently received the Opticians Association of Maryland Distinguished Optician Award for 2009.
Mr. Miles is an optical lens specialist and has the knowledge and skill to design eyewear to meet your specific needs. His flair for color and shape means you will always select great looking eyewear. In addition to your primary pair of eyewear he can help you choose the perfect pair of sunwear, recreational sportwears eyewear for office/ occupational use. Lets not forget about your children. Mr. Miles has fit pediatric eyewear as young as 3 months old and has all the young colors and frame shapes to make your kids happy, even your teenagers.
Mr. Miles is married with one daughter, has been a resident of Clinton for over twenty years and in his spare time enjoys cars and the challenge of autocross competition.
